As the last book of the Inheritance Games trilogy, the Final Gambit is arguably the most exciting, Avery has met the closest thing to family she has known since the death of her mother, only for him to be kidnapped. After finding out at the end of the Hawthorne legacy (the previous book in the series) that Avery is in fact not Toby’s daughter, and that he has a daughter who has been mistreated by her foster parents for her whole life, Avery feels like she is a mistake, that maybe the inheritance was not actually meant for her, and meant for Toby’s daughter, as an attempt for a grandfather to reconnect with his long lost son. The hawthorne brothers, Grayson, Xander, Jameson and Nash also find out the terrible things their grandfather Tobias has done on his path to greatness: not allowing fathers to see their own sons just so he could be their only ‘father’ figure controlling their entire upbringing and shunning away anyone who opposed him. Firing and framing innocent people just so he did not have competitors, and ruining his boss’ life so he could take everything from himself. Leaving Tobias Hawthorne’s image of a caring, intelligent and charitable father shattered. But even so, Avery must be the glue that keeps the family together, so they can find out who kidnapped the once chance of reuniting the Hawthorne Family, and more importantly, Avery’s only family.

Again, i would recommend this book to anyone, everything one could love in a book, every theme that attracts a reader - thriller, mystery, romance and the idea of having the 42.8 billion dollars at your fingertips.
