Cherub

Book 2

Class A

Less violence than the first book of the series

Sex reference

Inappropriate wording

Critique:

Class A is a lot less violent than the first book of the series, The Recruit . Still it is very realistic but is personally one of my favorite of the series. This is because the main character James has finally found friends and it is a lot more relatable for kids. Although it contains drugs it also warns kids of the after effects of taking drugs therefore discouraging cocaine and the other illegal drugs. It also brings to light that every criminal has someone who loves them whether it is a child, a partner or a parent. The person reading this should read the book(s) before as it is a lot easier to understand as is for a lot of the other books.

Class A is based on another mission for Cherub again the main character is James choke. This time the mission is based in a city unlike fort harmony in The Recruit. James goes on a mission to stop drug dealer Keith Moore, on the way he makes friends with his peers and Keith’s children this time he is with other kids from Cherub of his age, as they also play a major part in this book. He also has chance to meet someone very close to him before the mission, this is emotional for James and that person. In this book it is James’ birthday and he has a celebration with his friends.

I think it is a good book for 13 year olds but you have to think, is your child ready for this.
