In Chris Bradford’s ‘Ambush’, we see 15 yr old Connor Reeves adventure to Africa in an assignment protecting the French ambassador’s children. Connor experiences his toughest assignment as him and his ‘principals’ are ambushed and forced to camp in the jungle with countless threats around him. At first everything seems simple - lookout for animals and don’t die - but after a few days Connor realises that everything in the jungle is out to kill him. Will Connor live or will he be ripped apart by the crocodiles and leopards that surround him.

In my opinion, ‘Ambush’ is one of the best books in the ‘bodyguard’ series. This is because it mixes the anticipation you get in action books like Alex Rider or Young Bond with the thrill you get with survival books. I strongly recommend this book to people who enjoy spy books and like animal survival. This is why I recommend this book to 10 year olds and over.
