Skulduggery pleasant b7:

Skulduggery Pleasant and Stephanie Edgely are back in book 7 Mortal Coil, they fight an invincible being called Argeddion. Argeddion is a sorcerer who learns his true name and therefore gains immense power in magic. Argeddion has a vision where he gives magic to all normal people and names the day, the Summer of Light. Argeddion thinks it is the right thing to do but the magic community knows that giving mortals magic will only result in chaos. Moreover, Valkyrie is shunted by a serial killer into an alternate reality where one of the most prominent villains - Mevolent survives the war and turns earth into the Apartide of Sorcerers and Mortals. She must survive both the horrors of the war and the corrupted mortals of magic or both of her realities perish.

Recommendations:

This book is violent but has an excellent storyline and keeps you reading until the end. Although it is violent the violence is not expressed as much as the other books which is why I recommend this to 11yr olds and over. I think this book is great because it is a combination of fantasy and mystery, because of this it draws together the aspect of mystery and magic creates a very good book that could compete with the popularity.
