Heroes of Olympus b1 review:
Jason is definitely confused when he wakes up on a school bus on a trip to the Grand Canyon with no idea who he is and where his. Piper, the girl sitting next to him claims she is his girlfriend yet he has no recollection of her story when they sat on the roof of the school and had their first kiss, and goofy Leo seems to be his best friend. Before he has the chance to ask them questions, the whole bus is attacked by storm spirits but rescued by a camp half-blood chariot. The three heroes Jason, Leo and Piper have just had dinner when Leo and Piper are claimed by their godly parents: piper is the daughter of Aphrodite and Leo is the son of Hephaestus. Jason it seems has already been claimed by his father in another life. They are then sent on a quest which is to find Hera which supposedly knows where Jason’s memory is. But there are Earth Giants guarding Hera and Hera’s godly power is being used to transfer into one of the evilest titans of all time. They fly off in Leo’s fixed metal dragon to fight the titan but secretly Piper has been bribed by the titan because the titan has her father held in captivity. The book has mild violence but has not very advanced wording which means not very educational.
I recommend this book to children 7-9 because of it’s simple wording and mild violence. Although being a bit simple in the wording, the book is educative on the Greek mythology although the mythology is changed in this series so don’t believe everything in the book but the book is very entertaining and will keep you reading, and that is a good attribute for a book to have.
