Magnus Chase Review:

Magnus Chase is a homeless Bostonian Orphan but still finds friendship with some would-be fellow homeless people the story brings together the modern world and the world of Norse Mythology to make an epic adventure. At the start of the book he dies in a battle agains’t Surt the king of the Fire Ogres. Magnus dies protecting the sword ‘sumarbrander’ the sword of summer. After he dies he is carried by a Valkyrie to a modernized interpretation of the Norse Afterlife Valhalla. In the hotel Valhalla he meets Sam the Valkyrie that brings him to Valhalla the friends that helped him out when he was homeless turn out to be dwarves and then he and his team of heroes go on to take down the monster Fenris Wolf and his plans to near the end of the world. The book is family friendly but is violent, the reason it is family friendly is because the violence is not described in immense detail. The book is very thrilling and really edifies the reader on the Norse Gods. I recommend this to kids 7-11 because of the entertainment and education.
