Maze runner book 1 review:
The Plot Summary:
Sixteen-year-old Thomas wakes in an unknown area called the Glade, where walls close around them to keep the monsters out of the Glade, to keep a group of boys safe. All the boys have had their memories erased, but Thomas remembers just a bit of his past. The world is chaos and they are inhabiting the Killzone where animals are tested in an experiment they do not know of. Then Teresa arrives in the glade and surprises them all as she is the first girl to enter the Killzone, she explains to them that something has started out there on the outside of the glade and that the games have begun. Some of the residents think they are better off staying inside the glade because they have even formed a society in the cold unknown of the Glade. But Thomas is revealed to be the leader they have been waiting for, like a messiah to a religion, they have now the leader they needed to revolt against the monsters out of the walls and the people who have made the Glade.
Recommendations:
What you need to know is that the description of the violence in this book is much more detailed than in books such as Harry Potter, to the extent that it might make children who read the book before the age rating have nightmares. Mostly because of the adults murdering the children and the overall violence with the monsters outside the walls. Some of the teenagers in the Glade go insane with fear from the maze, and die of starvation, monsters, and depression when they get lost outside the walls. Although these bad things the book is a real page turner but you have to read it at the right time. I like this book because it is thrilling to read and you empathize I recommend this to teenagers specifically 14+.
