Skulduggery pleasant b2 review:

In Book 2, Playing with fire Baron Vengeous puts together a Monster with equal power to the Dark Gods from just scraps and the heart of a faceless one. He aims to bring back a faceless ones with no setbacks so to insure this he brings an army of evil with him. The monster is a decrepit versions of a faceless one and is only heard of through legend but in theory is a terrible monster whose destiny is to bring back its masters - the faceless ones. The only thing that stands between him and his reign of terror is Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain, the only ones who are prepared to face his power: the ability to just look at someone and make their whole body burst. Will Skulduggery and Valkyrie be able to vanquish Vengeous and his army of evil or will Ireland be reduced to ashes.

Critique:

Playing with fire is an extremely violent book however it does contain some of the most important values a reader could ask for: the book also expands you’re vocabulary but in a way that gives you examples of when to use them and lastly, it puts things in perspective with you’re life and the life of someone who has to hide their entire life from their parents, and suffer the consequence of them thinking you’re a complete failure, and therefore makes you grateful for all the luxuries you have. Be that as it may, playing with fire is still inappropriate for the amount of violence there is. As of this, i would firmly set the bar of restriction at 13+.
