16 year old Bri wants to become one of the most famous rappers of all time. Her dad - Lawless was shot in the hood but she wants to make it to the top. At first no one knows about her, but when she is thrown to the ground by the school guards, lil’ law is made. Bri already has a lot on her shoulders, but now she is doing it for her mum as well, Jay was on drugs for Bri’s early childhood and has now been fired from her job at the church. So Bri has to fulfill her duty as a good daughter, whilst trying to become a world sensation.

This gripping story has quite a lot of violence and voices some tough subject e.g. drug addicts, and what life can be like in the ‘hood’. Therefore I would recommend this to 14+.
