Detective and Sidekick vanquish evil in style :

In Skulduggery Pleasant Book 1, we meet the protagonist of the entire series, Stephanie Edgely. She lives two lives - one of them a normal teenage girl in high school and the other, a magical life (literally) of thrill and danger with her mentor, Skulduggery Pleasant.

Although the book contains a lot of violence it is not the extreme type of violence e.g characters dead with their limbs strewn over the floor with blood coating their ribs the violence is less described e.g., I punched him, and then ran. It has an amazing plot and links the non-fictional modern day world with the magical, fantastical world of strange creatures and different dimensions.

This book is a real page turner, though it may not grab you until after the first few pages. If you keep reading i assure you that you will be drawn in to the world of Skulduggery Pleasant. I recommend this book to all readers as it bring together so many genres and yet, it is still is a thrilling story.

If you or someone else that you know hates books, this book is worth considering; I believe the book has a very good chance of getting the person into reading..
