Wonder Book Review:

Auggie is a fifth-grade boy with severe facial scarring. His loving parents and his sister have shielded him from the outside world where he would be bullied and abused. But as time goes on Auggie becomes too smart to be homeschooled so must face the terrors of school. Auggie is afraid and worried about the kids bullying because of his looks, but there’s a part of him that wants to be like everyone else. The headmaster of the school, Mr Tushman introduces Auggie to a group of students at the school thinking it will help the transfer from home-schooling. Although some of the students are nice there is one student who makes fun of him and teases him. When school starts auggie makes some friends as some of the students are nice but others are plain cruel, this breaks Auggie especially when one of his closest friends betrays him and says behind his back that he only befriended him because Mr Tushman told him to. This book follows Auggie’s year the end of year party.

Recommendations:

This book shows how humans can be empathetic to each other but also cruel to outsiders and humans not like them, it also shows how hard it is to find someone perfect in terms of emotional values. I recommend this to teens because f the emotional strength you need to get through it. This book is very good although the emotional difficulty so i recommend this to 12-15 year olds. I like this book because i feel pity for the main character and it teaches the reader to respect peoples feelings and to not judge someone by their appearance
